  • PrEP Announcement!

Last week the Ontario Government announced that the drugs that prevent HIV (PrEP) will be added to the formulary for Ontario Drug Benefits. This is an exciting announcement!
This announcement means that the drug will be covered to prevent HIV for those who are on Ontario Works or ODSP. The drug will be partially covered for those who use Trillium drug benefits.
Because the drug is on the formulary, it will likely be covered by private drug plans going forward. It will also likely be covered under OHIP+, the new prescription benefit for people 25 and under, coming in 2018.
Because PrEP is a medicine, you must consult a doctor to see if it is right for you. For more information you can also visit www.thesexyouwant.ca/prep/
If you have any questions about PrEP, please call or email Hailea at 905-984-8684 ext 120 or hsquires@positivelivingniagara.com
